One couch is plenty.Small Load & Single Item Rubbish Removal Manly
Half the trade treats a single-item pickup like a favour. We built the crew around it. If it is one dead couch on the third floor of a walk-up, that is not an inconvenient booking, that is Tuesday, and we will price it straight and carry it down like it matters. Because to your living room, it does.
If you can point at it, it is a small load
- The couch. Two-seater, three-seater, the sofa bed nobody has ever thanked. The classic Manly single item.
- The mattress and the bed base. A regulated recycling stream, handled properly, not folded into a skip.
- The fridge that died in the salt air. And the washer, the dryer, the TV. Down the stairs and off to a licensed facility.
- Bags and boxes. The post-declutter pile, the op-shop rejects, the flat-pack casualty still in pieces.
- The one awkward thing. A cracked glass cabinet, a rolled rug, a bar fridge, an exercise bike with regrets.
Mix and match freely: a couch plus four bags is still a small load. If it grows into a whole flat or a balcony dig-out, we have pages for those too, same crew, same model.
How a small pickup actually runs
We come with straps, a trolley for the flat bits, and a healthy respect for terrazzo landings. Corners get walked, not bounced; stair rails and door frames are treated like they belong to someone you like, because they do. The common areas are left the way we found them, which matters when the whole building shares one stairwell.
Parking around the flat is its own sport, beach streets run four-hour limits and the lanes are tight, so we run a van, not a truck, and we plan the pickup window around what your street actually allows. That is our problem to solve, not yours.
Then the load is sorted: recyclables and green waste diverted where practical, mattresses and white goods to the right facility, the genuine junk to the transfer station. Nothing gets a quiet holiday on the kerb.
What moves a small-load price (and what never does)
No dollar menu here while our rates are being finalised, but the shape of the price is simple and it will not surprise you on the day. The whole number arrives before the first lift, and after that it is welded on.
| What we look at | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| How much is going | The load is priced by volume, a corner of the van costs less than the whole van. One item sits at the friendly end. |
| The carry | Distance from your door to where the van can legally stand. Flights of stairs are counted as work we plan for, not as a surcharge line. |
| What it is | Mattresses, fridges and e-waste carry facility fees to be disposed of properly. We fold those into the fixed price, no tip-fee ambush later. |
What never moves it: the job being "too small", your building having no lift, or you asking us to come back another day because the strata meeting ran long. And if something on your pile is genuinely not ours to take, paint, gas bottles, chemicals, we say so up front and point you to a licensed specialist instead of loading it and hoping.
Small-load questions, straight answers
Is one item honestly worth booking you for?
Yes, and you are not being polite by apologising for it. Single items are the most common job in this suburb and the one we planned the crew, the van and the pricing around. Book the couch.
My building has no parking at all. Does that kill it?
No. Between the back lanes, the loading windows and an early start, there is almost always a legal spot within carrying distance. We sort the parking plan before the day, it is part of the job, not an extra.
Can you take it from inside the flat, or do I have to get it downstairs?
From wherever it is: the spare room, the balcony, the top of the wardrobe. Doing the stairs is the service. If you have already wrestled it to the landing, that is appreciated but never required.
How fast can it be gone?
Same-day where the run allows, and we will tell you honestly on the callback if it does not. What we will not do is promise you a countdown clock and then blame traffic on the Spit.
Do I get an actual price, or an estimate that grows legs?
An actual price, settled while everything is still sitting where it is, covering the lot: carry, load, facility fees. If we misjudged how heavy your sofa bed is, that is our lesson, not your bill.
What happens to the stuff?
Sorted, not just dumped: recyclables and green waste diverted where practical, mattresses and white goods to licensed facilities, the rest to the transfer station. The whole trail is on the where-it-goes page.
Tell us what needs to go
Fill in the form and the callback comes from the crew, not a call centre. We look at the load, the whole number is settled before the first lift, stairs and all. Then it is carried down, swept up and gone, never left on the kerb.
- Small jobs taken seriously, one couch is plenty
- Fixed price agreed up front, no hourly surprises
- Same-day where we can, booked around your building
